Henry Gnecco: photography and shoe repair

About Henry

Hello! I am most often out and about working at the shoe repair shop and learning from my mentor John in the process, collaborating with bands covering concerts, or shooting local landscapes and businesses. When I’m not working on my shoe repair and photography ventures, I like to play guitar/music (mainly hard rock & blues, especially Led Zeppelin), work on home shop machining and carpentry projects, and play videogames.

While wearing through boots in prior work as a renovator, handyman and delivery driver, I began to study footwear construction and repair techniques to fix and modify my own hard-worn boots, and make better informed purchasing decisions. Already having much experience in craftsmanship and design in other areas, I found that I had been developing a new passion that stood out. After learning what I could on my own and searching many shops for opportunities, I was lucky enough to find a great mentor in a well respected local cobbler. I currently work and continue to learn at his shop, while also finding my way building my own ventures such as those you see here on this site.

I wouldn’t be where I am without my parents, girlfriend Anne, mentor John, friends, and the musicians, customers, and businesses who have all supported me! Thanks to all!
